African American has the highest percentage of men that are in jail. In the past nine years the number of African Americans incarcerated has sky rocketed and many people believe it is because of the high percentage of poverty. In America the majority of low income communities are populated with blacks and Hispanics and they are the majority population in prisons. In low income housing money is considered a big problem and when people are in need for money they tend to do negative activity in order to provide money for themselves and their families. Black men ages 20-34 are more likely to go to jail then any other race in America. In most American homes these are the men of the family and they are looked to provide for there families and they were not able to get a good education or a stable job in most cases they do negative activity. In today’s societies money is what matters the most, people are willing to do almost anything to have money and when you are in a desperate need for money some people who are not qualified for a good paying job, mainly people in poverty areas will be some what forced to other options which in some cases lead to a negative path. But can we blame those who are not as fortunate as others for doing what they have to do to survive in today’s society, after all who is at fault for making money the most important thing in America, because with out money you are considered a nobody. As harsh as it may sound it is true, people judge you by the type of clothes you wear, the type of car you drive around in and the area you may live in and that’s why people basically do what ever it takes to get money whether its going to a school to get that high paying job or doing something that’s going to get them money for the moment which may lead to illegal activities.
