Why is Title IX an sociological problem. Title IX is an sociological problem because it deals with students and sports. Title IX states "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." Although the most prominent "public face" of Title IX is its impact on high school and collegiate athletics, the original statute made no reference to athletics.

Jovone's Outline
Boy scouts and Girl scouts are exempt from this because they are not funded by the government. Sterotype say that girls and boys aren't suppose to be on the same team, but in all actuality they can. Nothing in any rule book say that girls can't play football. In the high school level as well as the college level. Big contraversy has started over this, but this issue is one that has been swept under the rug of darkness. Never to be uncovered, until now.
