Finding out you are pregnant is a big fright for teenage girls and can become very overwhelming. Many girls are not prepared to raise a child, in many cases the girl is still a child herself being taken care of by her own mother. Once a girl here’s this news many thoughts are racing through her head. “Am I going to keep it? What will my mother say? Will the father stay around? What about school? How will I support this child financially?” There are a lot of stresses that come with teenage pregnancy and many girls just can’t handle it. Along with these first thoughts, many girls become conscious of what society will think when she begins showing. Thoughts of suicide and a spirit of loneliness might overcome the teen. Although the soon to be mother might have much support, she feels as if she is all alone with no one that understands her. These stressed could also have a negative effect on the health of the child.
