Effects of Global Warming Severe temperatures can be very harmful to mankind: Severe temperatures can lead to a lot of environmental problems such as health, agriculture and famine. Health issues would prevalent such as dehydration, chronic disease, and skin cancer. Agriculture would be a huge issue due to severe temperatures because naturally grown food would not be able to with stand the heat from the sun that would scorch the earth. And the lack of food supply would eventually lead to famine in many places. Sea levels would rise: High temps would melt the arctic and would cause the sea level to rise. Due to the rise in sea levels there would be an increase in hurricanes and floods. Natural disasters would also create economic problems. Environmentalists have compared this theory to that of living in a tropical rain forest for the cities with lots of water near by. Disease and illness will increase: Because of excessive heat, germs that would be usually are killed due to not being able to with stand the cold would live. People would become ill because of excessive germs in the air. Examples of the kinds of diseases would be malaria and dengue fever. Animals and plant species would become extinct that can’t live in extremely hot climate: Animals and species that can only survive in cold climates will die off and eventually be extinct. Some scientists’ studies predict that over 1000 animals and species will be extinct by 2050 due to recent climate change. The economy would be worse: The damages made by the natural disasters, due to climate change would be a huge burden to take care of financially. Countries that depend primarily on agriculture will be hurt tremendously due to not being able to grow food because of extreme temperatures. Those countries built around supplying naturally grown foods to other countries will suffer financially.
